A painter patiently keeps painting green dots. From the spring of 2004, the filmmaker visited Japanese painter Satoshi Uchiumi’s studio almost every two weeks to document his artmaking process. He was working on a new large piece titled Under the Colors, which took him six months to complete. Since he was working in a small studio, he did not have a chance to see the entire piece until he installed it in the gallery. The film captures how the painting grew slowly as seasons change.
